AnyPiece Chrome Extension

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-05-21

This policy explains what data AnyPiece stores, how that data is used, and what control users have over it in version 0.1.0.

1. Information stored by the extension

When a user creates a piece, AnyPiece stores the piece image, the source page URL, the source page title, the capture timestamp, and basic sizing metadata required to show the piece in the gallery.

2. How the information is used

AnyPiece uses this information only to provide the clipping feature, display saved pieces in the gallery, and export share cards when the user explicitly requests an export.

3. Data sharing

Version 0.1.0 of AnyPiece is local-first. Piece data is stored in the browser's local IndexedDB for the extension. AnyPiece does not sell, rent, or transfer piece data to third parties, and this version does not send piece data to an AnyPiece backend service.

4. Data retention and control

Users can delete saved pieces from the gallery view at any time. Because this version does not include accounts or cloud sync, deleting a piece removes the locally stored copy associated with the extension in that browser profile.

5. Permissions used by the extension

  • activeTab: used after the user starts clipping, so the extension can capture the visible page and attach the page title and URL to the saved piece.
  • scripting: used to inject the clipping overlay into the current tab when the user begins a clip.
